Robert Bowling, creative strategist at Infinity Ward, has poured cold water over any hopes of seeing a zombie mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Writing on Twitter, Bowling didn’t skirt around the issue, stating, “No zombies in MW3.”
“Although we do have a very different style of co-op in our new infinite wave based Spec Ops Survival mode,” he added.
Zombies have become a staple of Treyarch-developed entries in the massively popular military shooter franchise, beginning with 2008’s Call of Duty: World at War and continuing with last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops.
In fact, the shambling, flesh-eating fiends became so popular that they even got their own spin-off title on iOS in the form of Call of Duty: Zombies.
Modern Warfare 3 is unleashed on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 in November 2011.
